Why do they fail? Typically it can be caused by what is referred to as “cost per acquisition.” If the small business is spending thousands of dollars on television, radio, yellow pages, and other print advertising, then the cost of creating a single new customer can often be more than the cost of the product or service that the consumer actually purchases. In some cases, the small local business would be better off just giving away their products and services. In fact, many businesses do just that. There has to be a better way.

Traffic generation method number one is article marketing. Becoming an expert author in your related niche is probably the single most effective traffic generation method you can start. When you submit articles you want to submit them to 5 to 10 different article directories for best results. Make sure your content is 100% yours, this goes without saying but spamming an article directory with someone else’s article is not a good idea. Also, your content must be sought after, reliable, unique and up to date. You should do keyword research to find keywords that are popular but under 500,000 searches a month. After all we want your articles to be read, right.
